RiverWalk Church of Christ (formerly Central Church of Christ) has been blessed with ministers who are deeply committed in their service for the Lord. Their responsibilities are varied, each sharing their gifts with those within our congregation, as well as those in need all around us. Rick Cline has served with our congregation as pulpit minister since 1979. He has a degree in Business Administration from Emporia State University and a M.A. in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
Rick’s wife, Lou Ann, is a 5th grade teacher in the Wichita school district. They have 2 married daughters and one grandson.
In addition to his work with the congregation, Rick has been involved in various community groups targeting downtown and neighborhood redevelopment, the homeless, and his neighborhood homeowner’s association.
Scott Waltman has served our congregation in various roles since 1987. He came to Central Church of Christ as the Education Minister and through the years has served in areas of Involvement, Young Couples, and Singles. He currently works with Adult Ministries, with responsibilities including Adult Education, L.I.F.E. Groups, and Senior Adults.
Scott has been in ministry since 1973 and served churches of Christ in Texas at Highland Hills in San Antonio, Pitman Creek in Plano, and Royalwood in Houston before moving to Wichita. He also worked with the core group that established the Impact church of Christ in Houston, Texas. (You can read more about this ministry under Missions – National.)
Scott and Jana recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Jana works as a Legal Administrator in a local Wichita law firm. She is heavily involved at RiverWalk Church as a Bible class teacher, Teacher Workroom Coordinator, and Missions Committee member. Both Scott and Jana are graduates of Abilene Christian University (ACU) in Abilene, Texas. They have two adult children and two wonderful grandchildren.
Scott is an avid golfer and member of both the Wichita and Kansas Golf Associations. Scott and Jana love to teach, read, and travel when they get the chance. They also frequently sing with the Praise Team during worship assemblies at RiverWalk.
Eric Manlove has been a member of RiverWalk/Central/Cleveland Ave. Church of Christ his entire life. (Check out our History.) After graduating from Wichita North High, Eric attended and graduated from Harding University in 1976 with a B.A. in Theatre. He has been worship leader for our congregation since 1977 and became the Children’s Minister in 1998.
Eric is married to Melody, an activities director at Georgetown Village and a Certified Interpreter for the Deaf. Melody works with our Deaf Ministry. They have three children: Abe, who is married to Sally; Adam; and Ethan. All of the family is active in various ministries at RiverWalk Church. Among other things, Melody signs for the deaf members during worship assemblies and class, teaches Bible classes periodically and serves as a correspondent for Christ’s Prison Fellowship.
Eric is active in the community through his volunteer work with the Wichita school system, Cub Scouts and various neighborhood activities. Eric, Ethan and Melody are active in Big Brothers / Big Sisters (BBBS) in Wichita. Eric loves to sing and has been a member of the Wichita Chamber Chorale and currently sings with the Wichita Broadway Singers, along with Melody, Abe, Sally and Adam. Eric leads the Praise Team at assemblies, which often includes Melody, Abe, Sally and Adam.
