This elementary school is located within 5 minutes of our church building and serves primarily low-income families. Our team has formed a partnership with USD 259 to work with Franklin in a variety of ways: tutors; “helping hands”; serving on school SITE Council; providing school supplies in August for students; and by encouraging the faculty and staff. Other projects under consideration are a Bible Club and an initiative targeting greater involvement by dads in their children’s education (WatchDOGS, an initiative of the National Center for Fathering).
Franklin Fall Festival Wednesday, October 28 5:45 – 7:45 p.m.
Sign-up sheets for volunteers and supplies are on the Serve Wichita table. We need people to sign up to make cakes, pies or a batch of cookies for the Bake Walk. We also need 2-liter bottles of soda for the lasso booth. All RiverWalk children are invited to put on their Halloween costumes and participate in the festival. There will be no activities at the RiverWalk building.
